The Jones Family has been farming Malad, Idaho since it was homesteaded in the early 1800's. Originally a Welsh settlement, pioneers turned the dry arid land into well irrigated farms and ranches. Our Great, Great Grandfather imported the first percheron stallion into the valley from France. Since this time working ranch horses have been a necessary part of the valley for both work and entertainment. Family horses were fully expected to move cattle in the surrounding mountains during the week and match race in the center of town on Saturday.
While we have imported horses into the valley from outside ranches our goals have remained the same. Working ranch horses with speed, dexterity, and stamina. We often produce color, but our focus has always been on conformation and pedigree. |
